In Its Place chronicles the familiar in everyday life. The paintings form a narrative to examine the gendered context housed within. As an object, as a thing, as a body— as a woman, what does it mean to occupy space? In the home, in private, in the gallery?
Through a colourful, repetitious framework I collect to investigate these histories often silenced. The things are intimate, exposed— to capture their presence in time— and space.
